Let's Have a Conversation Book Club

The Let’s Have a Conversation Book Club Begins Wednesday, July 6th 6:15pm.  This month's feature is Under a White Sky: The Nature of the Future by Elizabeth Kolbert

The Coatesville Public Library is pleased to announce the second session of the book club titled "Let's Have a Conversation".  Our next title is Under a White Sky: The Nature of the Future by Elizabeth Kolbert.  Our leader and facilitator of this group will be Jennifer McLuckie, our Adult Services and Outreach Librarian.   Under a White Sky is a national bestseller and focuses on our impact on the environment.

This group is going to meet in person on the main level of the Coatesville Public Library on four Wednesday evenings at 6:15 PM beginning on July 6, 2022.  We are also going to offer an opportunity to join by Zoom for anyone that prefers this option.  Please select your preferred option when you register.

Individuals interested in attending this book club may consider purchasing a copy for personal use.  It was recently released in a paperback.  Also, there are a few copies of this book in the Chester County Library System.

"Let's Have a Conversation" is going to have a unique structure because we want to give time and space to fully engage with the text.  We do not think it is possible to truly explore all the aspects of this title in one session and have decided to make this book club a series of meetings.  By reading smaller sections of the book at a time, we can devote time to examine and discuss the material.  Please see the reading schedule below.

  • 7/6 Part 1, Chapters 1&2 (pages 3-60)
  • 7/13 Part 2, Chapters 1&2 (pages 63-113)
  • 7/20 Part 2, Chapter 3 and Part 3, Chapter 1 (pages 114 – 164)
  • 7/27 Part 3, Chapters 2&3 and Afterword (pages 165-212)

If you have questions, please contact Jennifer McLuckie at the Coatesville Public Library - 610-384-4115.
